Resilience

Resilience in a cyber security context is the ability for an individual or organisation to weather a cyber incident. Think of it like being resilient to colds and flu, and the need for herd immunity and resilience among the masses.

At the highest level, resilience requires an individual or organisation to be able to effectively and efficiently:
  • detect a cyber or related incident is occurring
  • respond to that incident
  • operate through the incident
  • recover from the incident
While there is no 100% solution to cyber security – it is a risk to be managed – a good cyber security program will assist with resilience. The Gotcha! CyberBasics Checklists are also helpful.
